Gargoyles & Sculpture Stone Carving
Gargoyles are not only an elaborate, fantastical and grotesque architectural feature that adorns churches, cathedrals and civic buildings. They also have a practical purpose. Their primary purpose is to act as a water spout, taking rain away from the roof and preventing it from running down the stone walls which would cause erosion and damp. A gutter carved in the topside the gargoyle allows the rainwater to run through and exit through the mouth. They became an important part of the Gothic architectural style and so are sometimes included in the on a buildings facade just for decoration and interest.
We love to carve all types of fantastic creations but also any other kind of carving you can think of. We have created realistic animal sculptures to simple bowls and Japanese Zen garden lamps.
